MetroDuct Class 3 Utility Duct

MetroDuct Class 3 is our premium twinwall utility ducting system, engineered to deliver outstanding performance across demanding infrastructure applications. Combining lightweight handling with exceptional strength and durability, MetroDuct provides a reliable solution for the long-term protection of underground services.

Designed to meet the required compression strength of current Highways specifications, MetroDuct is available in a range of colours and identification markings in line with NJUG recommendations, ensuring suitability for multiple utility sectors.

Manufactured from polyethylene, the ducting is typically supplied in either 6-metre straight lengths or 50-metre coils. The external corrugated profile enhances structural strength, while the smooth internal bore allows for easy cable installation without snagging. Where a sealed system is required, watertight joints can be achieved using a push-fit coupling in conjunction with twin profile seals.

Certification and Performance

All MetroDuct twinwall systems are fully compliant with the latest BBA certification requirements for sealed ducting systems, where specified. Certification applies to duct sizes from 63mm to 178mm outside diameter, supplied in 6-metre lengths.

The duct’s lightweight and flexible construction allows it to accommodate trench irregularities, while its high impact resistance reduces the need for extensive bedding preparation or specialist surrounds in most installations.
