PEX-AL-PEX Multilayer Pipes for Gas Systems

PEX-AL-PEX Multilayer Pipes are high-performance composite pipes designed for domestic gas distribution systems. The multilayer construction combines the flexibility and corrosion resistance of cross-linked polyethylene (PEX-b) with the strength and dimensional stability of an aluminium core, creating a reliable and durable solution for internal gas installations.

The pipe features a smooth yellow outer layer and a smooth white inner layer, both manufactured from PEX-b (silane cross-linked polyethylene), with a central aluminium layer that acts as an effective oxygen and UV barrier. The aluminium layer is permanently bonded to the polyethylene layers using specialised adhesive technology to create a homogeneous, high-performance pipe structure.

Available in outside diameters from 16 mm to 32 mm, the pipes are supplied in coils or straight lengths, with optional yellow corrugated protective conduit for additional mechanical protection during installation.

Description

Features & Benefits

  • Designed for Domestic Gas Systems
Engineered for safe and reliable gas distribution to residential appliances and internal building services.
  • Advanced Multilayer Construction
Combines PEX-b inner and outer layers with an aluminium core to deliver the benefits of both plastic and metal piping technologies.
  • Cross-Linked PEX-b Technology
Manufactured using silane cross-linked polyethylene (PEX-b) for excellent mechanical strength, flexibility and long-term durability.
  • Integrated Aluminium Barrier
The aluminium layer provides an effective barrier against oxygen diffusion and ultraviolet (UV) radiation, helping to maintain system integrity.
  • Excellent Corrosion Resistance
Unlike metallic pipe systems, PEX-AL-PEX is highly resistant to corrosion, eliminating issues caused by rust and aggressive environments.
  • Electrochemically Inert
Non-conductive construction prevents galvanic corrosion and eliminates problems associated with stray electrical currents.
  • Long Service Life
Designed to provide decades of dependable performance under normal operating conditions.
  • Reduced Noise Transmission
Plastic construction helps minimise noise generated by gas flow compared with traditional metallic pipe systems.
  • Low Thermal Expansion
The aluminium core significantly reduces thermal expansion compared with standard plastic pipe, improving dimensional stability.
  • Excellent Flexibility
Capable of tight-radius bends, reducing the number of fittings required and simplifying installation.
  • Wide Range of Press Fittings
Compatible with a comprehensive range of press-fit connection systems for fast, secure and reliable installation.
  • Optional Protective Conduit
Available with a yellow corrugated protective sleeve to provide additional mechanical protection where required.
  • Lightweight and Easy to Install
Easy handling and flexible construction help reduce installation time and labour costs.
