SGS Composite PE & Steel Spiral Pipes for Non-Pressure Networks

SGS Composite Spiral Pipes combine the durability of high-density polyethylene (PE) with the structural strength of steel to provide a high-performance solution for non-pressurised underground sewerage and drainage networks. Manufactured using advanced spiral winding technology, these structured wall pipes are ideally suited to gravity sewer systems, drainage infrastructure and road crossing applications.

The composite wall construction comprises a smooth PE internal surface for efficient hydraulic performance, an integrated steel reinforcement layer for enhanced structural strength, and a smooth PE external surface for long-term durability and environmental protection.

Each pipe is supplied with an integrated socket and smooth spigot for electrofusion jointing or, alternatively, with grooves for gasketed joint systems. The range is available in nominal internal diameters (DN/ID) from 800 mm to 2000 mm.

Features & Benefits

  • Composite PE and Steel Construction
Combines the corrosion resistance and flexibility of polyethylene with the structural strength of steel, delivering exceptional long-term performance.
  • Mechanical Composite Assembly
The PE layers and steel reinforcement are mechanically assembled without the use of chemical adhesives or bonding agents, ensuring a robust and durable composite structure.
  • Extensive Diameter Range
Available in sizes from 800 mm to 2000 mm, making the system suitable for a broad range of large-scale sewerage and drainage projects.
  • Smooth Internal Bore
The smooth PE inner surface promotes efficient water flow, reducing hydraulic resistance and minimising sediment build-up.
  • Smooth External Surface
The flat external profile simplifies handling and installation while providing durable protection against environmental conditions.
  • Reliable Jointing Options
Available with integrated electrofusion socket connections or gasketed joint systems, providing secure, watertight and dependable connections.
  • High Joint Integrity
Designed to deliver long-term sealing performance, reducing the risk of infiltration and exfiltration throughout the pipeline’s service life.
  • Lightweight Design
Significantly lighter than traditional rigid pipe materials, enabling easier transportation, handling and installation while reducing construction costs.
  • Excellent Chemical and Abrasion Resistance
HDPE construction provides outstanding resistance to corrosion, chemicals and abrasive media, ensuring long-term durability in demanding environments.
  • Electrically Non-Conductive
Inert to stray electrical currents, helping to prevent corrosion-related issues commonly associated with metallic pipeline systems.
  • Ideal for Underground Infrastructure
Suitable for gravity sewerage systems, drainage networks, road embankment crossings and a wide range of non-pressurised civil engineering applications.
